Ashford Triathlon Club closed out the summer midweek series in style at Ocean Lake’s final “Splash and Dash” of the season!
12 club members turned up for the last race – and once again, Ashford Tri was the best-represented club at the event. Whether racing or cheering, the team spirit was on full display, with several members attending just to support and encourage – a fantastic reminder of what makes this club special.
Everyone finished, everyone smiled (eventually), and everyone either improved on their previous times or conquered their first (and last?) Splash and Dash of the season without accidentally inventing a new discipline or creating their own route along the way.
🎉 Special mentions to Higgs, who was upgraded from P2 to P1 and claimed the coveted winner’s mug – proof that coffee tastes better when it’s brewed in victory. His promotion came after another competitor switched distances mid-race… which just goes to show that sometimes, sticking to the plan really pays off.
Trayc who got a PB in the swim and the run – amazing results. April who entered the day before and was the youngest competitor on the day and smashed it.
The supportive atmosphere, solid performances, and unmatched team turnout made for a perfect end to the series. The atmosphere was friendly, the racing was fierce, and the team spirit was unbeatable. Whether you swam like a fish, ran like the wind, or just clapped like a caffeinated seal, you were part of what made this event such a perfect finale.
Roll on the next one (Next May)!
