Great Success – Hythe Bay Triathlon 2025

A Little Swim, a Breezy Ride, and a Run by the Sea (What More Could You Want?)

If you were anywhere near Hythe Swimming Pool on June 1st, you might’ve spotted a crowd of lycra-clad legends (and a few slightly terrified newbies) gathered for the Hythe Bay Triathlon 2025 — Ashford Tri Club’s annual super sprint that’s as friendly as it is fast.

This wasn’t one of those iron-tough, sweat-until-you-drop type races. Nope. This was a delightful 250m swim (indoors, with swimming trunks, no rubber suits required), a 16km bike ride that takes you to Folkestone and back (with real-life sea views!), and a 5km run along the coast to Sandgate and back, complete with salty air and the occasional dog cheerleader.

Thanks to all who took part for bringing such positive and fun attitudes, you are a real inspiration!

Fantastic Feedback!

A lot of club members took time out of their weekends to help marshal and run the event, and the event committee have been bevering behind the scenes for months to make this happen. The positive feedback we received through eventrac, facebook, and face-to-face on the day really do make it all worth while. You make us feel valued and appreciated, so thank you so much for that. Club member Peter Pickering has made a video of the 2025 event, that acts as a great momento for the day. You can find it on all good social media platforms, but here’s an embedded copy, to save you searching
